monochrome culture

monochrome culture, a photo by Digital Witness on Flickr.

I live in a monochrome culture

sees the world in shades of gray

thinks the truth is relative

that light’s a hireling

darkness, but a shadow

in the brightest shining day

wants the ocean

but can’t stand the salt

wants to be right

when no one can be wrong

says to sheep among the wolves

“its safe to play in fields of lilies

as well as lay in beds of thorns”
